Inspire your children with the fantastic atmosphere and community spirit of the Mini and Junior Great North Run!
Little ones (aged 3-8) can take part in a 1.2 km dash, and for bigger kids (aged 9-16) there is a 4 km run.
With an iconic riverside route and brilliant support from locals, the event is sure to be an unforgettable experience for you and your kids!

Mini runners (aged 3–8) must be accompanied by an adult. Junior runners (aged 9–16) have the option of running by themselves or with a parent/guardian. All accompanying adults who are running are required to wear the specific accompanying adult bib.
Running for Maggie's
We will support you and your child every step of the way and help you cross the finish line. Here is some of the support you will receive:
- a Maggie's cap for your child to wear on the day with their Great North Run T-shirt
- a visit around your local Maggie's centre
- one of the loudest cheer points on the route cheering you along
- support with your fundraising.
